As soon as he could handle a steering wheel, he found his calling and turned to racing as his dream. His need for speed gave him the confidence and direction to pursue his goals. He grew up racing motocross as a kid and got his license at 16. Only a year later was when he broke his neck at 17 in 2006. Mario shattered his 4th, 5th, and 6th vertebrae as well as his dreams. He was lucky to find his passion early on and his commitment to his craft never stopped. Mario Bonfante Jr. is a quadriplegic racecar driver who has inspired many and will continue to do so. He was injured at a very young age while racing but that has not stopped him. His description of his accident is life changing and his actions speak louder than words. Mario Bonfante Jr. told his doctors that he wanted to stop all prescription drugs asap. He reached out to fellow injured patients and they informed him about the many benefits of cannabis. “I made them take me off all pain drugs,” explained Mario Bonfante Jr. “I asked my buddies at rehab what do you guys do for nerve pain, elasticity, for this and that. Honestly, cannabis is the only thing that works [...] When I tried it, it was life changing honestly. It was pretty impressive how much and how quick it did with such a small amount. It was at that point that I was a full believer.” Mario Bonfante Jr. officially stopped all prescription drugs and began his cannabis journey. He quickly discovered the immediate benefits of cannabis and as his journey progressed, the full benefits became clearer and clearer.
